Image Wizards

In photography, color is everything. It is what gives life to the image. But you know that aside from the photograph itself, print quality is just as important. You will want your image to get printed with the same quality and natural look. But most of the time, an ordinary printer cannot come up with the same result. That is because printers rely on pixel dots to create the image onto paper or any surface. And the quality then diminishes.

But did you know that there is a type of printing that does not follow the traditional limitations of the ordinary printers? That printing process is called "Dye Sublimation Printing."

What is dye sublimation printing?

It is a process of printing where heat is used to transfer dye onto a target surface. The process turns the ink into a vapor, and as soon as it touches the target surface, it turns back into liquid. This liquid characteristic produces a gentle gradation around the pixels that make up the picture creating a much vivid image result.

The 4 Advantages

Choosing a dye sublimation printing is highly recommended if you are after the highest quality output for your favored images. Here are only a few of the reasons why you should choose this type of printing.

1.      It improves the image quality

Images, no matter how high the resolutions are, have pixels. These pixels are not visible with higher resolutions especially when you are viewing it on a small screen. But once you transfer it to print which has a bigger size than your original screen, there is a chance that those pixels will become more apparent.

This can be avoided in the process of dye sublimation printing. In fact, with dye sublimation technique, those pixels will disappear entirely. As a result, the printing process boosts the quality of the original image.

2.     No print texture

Unlike the traditional printing where the ink is usually laid on top of the target surface, the dye sublimation printing infuses the material with ink. That is made possible by the vaporizing characteristic of the ink that heated in the process. The result will feel like the ink has always been a part of the surface and not something that got placed or printed on top of it.

3.     It lasts longer

If you compare the end products of other printing methods to the dye sublimation's, you will find that the latter has a more smooth result. Since the ink is bound to the material itself, the quality of the print is undoubtedly superior to all the rest.

4.     The print is more durable

One of the reasons the dye sublimation printing process is far better than the traditional printing method is the fact that it prints like it binds the ink to the material. The ink vapor seeps through the surface. This way, the ink's bond to the material has more integrity than other usual print. The result is durable and does not crack over time, repeated use, or contact with other surfaces. While on the other hand, your traditional prints have peeled off already from its surface.
